Copy, Paste - Poem
You must sing your own song and rejoice.
I can’t just copy, paste,
I must sing with my own voice.
My melody is not a random choice,
It must be carefully sought and placed,
I must sing with my own voice.
Maybe it builds or destroys?
Maybe it is written or erased?
You must sing your own song and rejoice.
Is my truth still unvoiced?
Have I lived in too much haste?
I must sing with my own voice.
You feel your own joys,
Your own dreams you have chased.
You must sing your own song and rejoice.
I searched through all the noise,
I know where I am placed,
You must sing your own song and rejoice.
I must sing with my own voice.
I can’t just copy, paste,
I must sing with my own voice.
My melody is not a random choice,
It must be carefully sought and placed,
I must sing with my own voice.
Maybe it builds or destroys?
Maybe it is written or erased?
You must sing your own song and rejoice.
Is my truth still unvoiced?
Have I lived in too much haste?
I must sing with my own voice.
You feel your own joys,
Your own dreams you have chased.
You must sing your own song and rejoice.
I searched through all the noise,
I know where I am placed,
You must sing your own song and rejoice.
I must sing with my own voice.
