Hope - Poem
HOPE
It glimmers, distant, a far off lantern
Beyond the furthest mountain,
Nearly lost amongst the stars.
The sky is now a purple blanket,
Slowly pulled over and tucked in,
Yet an aperture remains.
It gleams, intensifying,
Bathing in golden light the rough spots,
Softening the wrinkled ridges.
Though diffused and dim,
It suspends the dark
And embraces us.
Beyond the furthest mountain,
Nearly lost amongst the stars.
The sky is now a purple blanket,
Slowly pulled over and tucked in,
Yet an aperture remains.
It gleams, intensifying,
Bathing in golden light the rough spots,
Softening the wrinkled ridges.
Though diffused and dim,
It suspends the dark
And embraces us.
