Schedules for All Saints Worship and Activities
Worship Schedule
WORSHIP:
Worship is at the center of our community of faith. We gather to
worship our Living Lord, who has promised that "where two or more
are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst of them."
Three distinct opportunities provide varied expressions and experiences
of worship on Sundays at 8:15, 9:30 and 11:00 a.m.
Traditional Service at 8:15 a.m. invites the congregation
into praise through the rich tradition of Lutheran liturgical worship.
The congregation enjoys the strong music leadership of James Hild, our
Coordinator of Music, as he involves vocal, brass and handbell choirs,
as well as both the organ and piano. Inspirational sermons, the Sacraments,
and other expressions of worship rejuvenate our community to be about
the works of love in our everyday lives.
Gospel Service at 9:30 a.m. features a liturgical, yet
distinctly "spiritual" flavor, reflecting some of the richness
of African American communities of faith. While the organ is also
used, a good deal of the music accompaniment utilizes the piano, percussion,
bass guitar and other instruments. Begun in the fall of 2007, we
have had many people enjoy this distinctly moving way to raise voices
and spirits of praise to God
Contemporary Service at 11:00 a.m. is more contemporary
in its worship. The creative music leadership of Colleen Everitt enlivens
our spirits in new and dynamic ways. Piano, synthesizer, guitar, drums
and other instrumentation helps to lead us in praise and worship music,
always complementing the sermon message and Scripture readings for the
morning. Of course, we love to celebrate the Sacraments of Baptism and
Holy Communion, too, as we leave here refreshed and ready for another
week of service through love.
All Saints also provides other
worship opportunities at various times of the year. During Lent, we worship
on Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m. with a full sanctuary, ready to be inspired
and encouraged for our Lenten disciplines. Holy Week and Easter, Thanksgiving,
and of course, Christmas, all offer opportunities to gather in worship.
