Choir Hymn-Learning Plan
Hymn Learning Program at All Saints
This hymn-learning course is a systematic plan to learn some of the great hymns of our faith. It is not meant as a replacement for learning hymns in regular worship, rather to enhance the enjoyment of hymns and to further develop and strengthen the child's faith.
Compact disks of these hymns and hymnals are available to check out and take home. Awards are described below.
HYMN-LEARNING PLAN INSTRUCTIONS
The requirement is to learn 10 hymns per school year.
* NOTE: These awards are given only to children participating in the hymn-learning plan.
The child will memorize the first verse and melody of ten hymns. They may sing a hymn for James Hild, a cappella, any time they feel prepared. Singing will be done privately. Awards will be given to those completing this project. The awards ceremony will be in late May, during one of our worship services.
This is a three-year program, which may be joined at any time. Hymns 1 - 569 are from the Lutheran Book of Worship (LBW), hymns 570 - 802 are from With One Voice (WOV).

AWARD SYSTEM
• 1st year of enrollment: After memorizing 10 hymns,
the child receives a compact disc of the Winnipeg Mennonite Children's
Choir.
• 2nd year of enrollment: After memorizing 10 additional
hymns, the child receives a copy of With One Voice (unless 2nd year
is 6th grade**).
• 3rd year of enrollment: After memorizing 10 additional
hymns, the child receives a Lutheran Book of Worship with their
name embossed in gold.
*Any 6th grader who has participated in this hymn-learning course for one year will receive a hard-cover LBW with their name embossed in gold.
**Second year completion as a 6th grader receives a leather bound LBW with their name embossed in gold.
